Employee onboarding training template
A complete onboarding program. Every new hire. Every time.
CourseBldr writes a full new-hire onboarding kit — orientation handbook, role-specific manual, instructor guide, knowledge checks, certificate — in the time it takes to write the welcome email.
Every team has the same onboarding problem: there's a document called “Onboarding,” it's a Google Doc that hasn't been touched in 18 months, and the consistency from new hire to new hire is whatever the assigned buddy remembers to cover. CourseBldr is the engine that turns the half-finished doc into a real onboarding program.
Tell us the role and the company context. CourseBldr produces:
- Orientation Handbook — company, culture, expectations
- Role-specific Student Manual — the job, in writing
- Instructor Guide — the manager's first-week playbook
- Pre-Assignment — what to read before day one
- Quick Reference Guide — the cheat sheet for the first 30 days
- Knowledge Checks + Certificate of Completion
All editable. All branded. Same program for every hire, every time — and easy to refresh when the org changes.
Same program, every hire
Consistency is the onboarding problem CourseBldr solves. Generate once, deliver to everyone — no more buddy-dependent quality drift between week 2 hires.
First-30-days structure
Kit ships with a Day 1 / Week 1 / Week 2 / Day 30 cadence so new hires know what's coming and managers know what to cover.
Knowledge checks built in
Quiz questions at the end of each module so the new hire — and you — know they actually absorbed the company essentials, not just the doc title.
Manager playbook included
The Instructor Guide tells the hiring manager what to say in week 1, what to ask in the 30-day check-in, and what success looks like by Day 30.
How it works
From topic to shippable program.
01
Describe the role
Job title, department, company context, what success looks like at 30 days. Or upload your current onboarding doc — CourseBldr expands it.
02
Generate
Pro Kit ($347) for a single role. Team Kit ($497-$997) for multi-role onboarding (sales, engineering, ops). 3–8 minutes of AI build.
03
Brand and refine
Apply your logo and colors. Add your benefits handbook references, your tooling, your culture specifics. Standard Word + PowerPoint editing.
04
Deliver or host
Hand off the kit to every new hire. Or publish to BLE Academy and assign with due dates — completion auto-issues a certificate by Day 30.
Common questions
The five questions everyone asks.
How is this different from my Google Doc?
The Google Doc is the first 20% — title, table of contents, the welcome paragraph. CourseBldr ships the other 80%: structured modules, manager guidance, knowledge checks, evaluation, certificate. Output is editable, so the Google Doc becomes input, not output.
Can I have different programs for different roles?
Yes. Generate one kit per role — sales onboarding, engineering onboarding, ops onboarding. Or use the Library subscription for a steady cadence as you build out role-specific programs across the company.
What if my onboarding is regulated (SOX, HIPAA, OSHA)?
CourseBldr produces SCORM 1.2 export on Pro Kit and up — load into your compliance LMS with completion tracking. The kit's quiz reports score back to the LMS, so audit trails work out of the box.
How do we keep it current as the company changes?
Regenerate. Each generation is 3–8 minutes; refreshing the program is a quarterly task, not an annual project. Or use Library for ongoing catalog updates.
Can we use this for remote / async onboarding?
Yes — Pro Kit and Team Kit include slide narration (AI voice on every slide), so the deck can present itself for self-paced learners. The Student Manual is the long-form text, the deck is the visual walkthrough.
Your next new hire onboards in a real program.
Stop sending the same half-finished Google Doc. Ship a kit that holds up at Day 30.
